Dear CAPA members:

As of June 5th, 2008, our Earthquake Relief fund-drive has reached a total of $14,450, from a total of 43 contributors. Most are CAPA members; there are a few kind friends who are not members but made generous contributions anyway. The individual donations ranged from $50 to $2000. This is quite an accomplishment on part of our members. As mentioned before, whatever amount you contribute, is highly appreciated. If you haven’t received a receipt, Dr. Maomi Li is preparing one for you, and shall send to you soon.
 

Our Treasurer is currently in China and will be back in 2 weeks. By then, he will deposit all the checks received during this fund-raising, and write a check with the total amount received to the receiving agency. Therefore, there is still opportunity for more members to send in their donations, and Dr. Maomi Li has indicated that he will continue to receive the checks by mail.

I just came back from a trip to China. Everybody there is doing his or her part, to whatever capacity, in helping out the devastated areas and people in Sichuan. I am sure that you all have seen reports and news pieces from different media, and it is not necessary to repeat those here.

At the end of this letter is the list of contributors so far. This is for verification purpose. If you have sent a donation, and your name is not listed, please let us know.
