Breast pathology fellowship available July 2011 (FILLED)

THE POSITION HAS BEEN FILLED. 4/27/11

Department of Pathology Breast Section at the University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center has an unexpected opening for this year's breast fellowship starting July 2011. Due to the trend of subspecialization in most of the academic centers and large hospitals and legal issues for breast cases, fellows graduating recent years from the breast fellowship training all  got pretty good positions. The graduating fellow this year was recruited to be attending at the Johns Hopkins.

“How to survive the 1st year pathology residency” teleconference a huge success!

July 1 sees another wave of Chinese medical graduates (CMG) entering pathology residency programs across the country. In order to bring together a significant body of information to CMG interns, and to orient and familiarize them with pathology residency program culture, expectations and tips to improve their performance in their training, Dr. Liping Song, a pathology intern at the Ball Memorial Hospital, IN, spearheaded and organized the first “How to survive the 1st year pathology residency” teleconference which took place on June 26, 2010.

photos at Bar Harbor, ME

I recently spent some time at Bar Harbor, ME, a beautiful Northeast, tourist spot. Acadia National Park is just 10 miles away, which is the first National Park established by National Park Service (NPS).

The points of interest are Thunder Hole, Jordan Pont and its famous Jordan Pond House (a restaurant facing Jordan Pond), Sea wall, Bass Harbor head light house, and Cadaliac mountain (great for sunset and sunrise). Many more interest spots are reserved for next visit! ^_*

2009 ACAP Mock Interview Report

2009 ACAP Mock Interview Report

With strong support from Dr. Eng, our attending interviewers and Association of Chinese American Physicians (ACAP) administrative staff, the ACAP Student, Resident and Fellow Committee (SRF) successfully held the 2009 mock interview on Sat. Sept 26, 2009, for 22 Chinese Medical Graduates (CMGs). Some of them came from California, Maryland, Massachusetts, and New Jersey. The session started at 8:15am and was followed by 2 and half hours of group discussion led by me. Our attending interviewers ably covered Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Anesthesiology, and Pathology. Each CMG has been interviewed and consulted by 3 or more interviewers in the specialty(ies) of his or her interest.
